Current Research Engineers and Alumni attended an event at the Pint of Science Festival 2017 in Edinburgh. The event was focused on technological advances in healthcare including nanotech cancer treatments and data driven healthcare.
The event was organised by Regional Group Coordinator Aneta Lisowska, who writes:-
"A group of us attended a Pint of Science event titled "Big Data Doctors and Nano Nurses: Technological frontiers in healthcare " which comprised of two talks. In the first talk, we heard about laser induced drug release, which may help in the future to battle cancer. The second speaker warned us about biases which are being introduced by researchers when designing algorithms for healthcare applications and spiked some heated up discussions.
At the time between talks, we had the opportunity to find out more about life after the EngD from former EngD students who joined us at the event".
