The topic of the 74th Scottish Universities Summer School in Physics will be 'Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Photonics'. The School will be held in St Andrews, Scotland, from 16th to 23rd June 2018. SUSSP was established in 1960  to "contribute to the dissemination of advanced knowledge (in Physics) and the formation of contacts among scientists from different countries" through annual summer schools of the highest international standard.

The school aims:

Foster a sense of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship whilst focussing on photonics research and commercialisation.

Networking of international physics students and high profile speakers.
